FAUST

With Petr Cepek, voices by Andrew Sachs
Directed by Jan Svankmajer

Genius animator, the Czech surrealist Jan Svankmajer takes the
Faust versions of Ghoete, Marlowe and Gounod, and melds a visually striking film of crazy imagery to drive the tale in a modern setting. Our lead becomes the Faust character that wants to sell his soul for a life of utter bliss, which obviously comes at a price. With magic and a generally bizarre tone, Svankmajer combines live action, his great animation and large-scale marionettes to tell this classic tale in a greatly innovative way. From comical to grotesque, this is a version of Faust everyone should see.
