SOME GUY WHO KILLS PEOPLE With Kevin Corrigan, Barry Bostwick, Karen Black, Leo Fitzpatrick, Ariel Gade Written by Ryan A. Levin Directed by Jack Perez With John Landis as executive producer, this black comedy has an ice-cream parlour employee who had recently been released from the mental asylum. Living with his feisty mother (who dates a cop), his frustrations and instability flashes back to an incident where he was beaten and brutalized by a bunch of school-mates. Now years later, his murder fantasies get exorcised by drawing, but systematically these men get brutally killed, his mom's boyfriend on the case. On top of this, his young daughter discovers who her dad is and comes to find him. Corrigan is very good in the lead, with Bostwick pretty funny and Black highly unstable. A low-key, odd, but surprisingly entertaining indie movie with a cool twist. 4 / B |
