What makes it even better is the fact that Argento's SUSPIRIA will be screened for FREE at the pre-Fest launch on Friday 13 October ! Suspiria is a wild, bloody visual trip and an astounding piece of Italian horror, featuring an absolutely brilliant soundtrack by The Goblins. Arrive early to avoid disappointment. Piranha Energy Drinks & vodka specials.

Foreign entries come from the UK, Canada, USA and Brazil, and the best Foreign Short Film entry will also be selected with an award sent to them (unless they want to visit our shores to collect it in person!)

THE EYE
FRIDAY 27 OCTOBER - 10.15pm (R20)
The wave of great Eastern Horrors being re-made by the West doesn't seem to be letting up. One such title soon getting the Hollywood make-over is the Pang Brothers' amazingly creepy and classy movie THE EYE. A young woman is liberated from eternal darkness after a transplant restores her sight. Slowly her recovered sight starts to reveal more than just the physical world as disturbing visions infiltrate her existence. As with most of the movies on the Horror Fest schedule, this is a very rare chance for you to catch this cool movie in the theatre, so don't miss it.
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)
HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL
SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER – 1.45pm (R20)
What is a Horror Festival without Vincent Price? Or a haunted house? Here both get combined! This 1958 installment from gimmick king William Castle has a playboy offering six guests a large sum of money to stay the night in a mansion which has already claimed several lives. He obviously has cunning plans. Fabulous.
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)
COUNT DRACULA AND HIS VAMPIRE BRIDE
( aka The Satanic Rites Of Dracula )
SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER – 4pm (R20)
Some prefer Bela Lugosi, others Gary Oldman, but to many Hammer Horror legend Christopher Lee is the only true Count Dracula worthy to don the cape, with Peter Cushing as his arch nemesis, Van Helsing. Here in this last
Dracula movie by the Hammer Horror studios, the count wants to wipe mankind off the face of the earth with a deadly virus!
(Free Vampire teeth courtesy of Party Tricks for the first 2 dozen viewers, and a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment for one lucky audience member!)
PIRANHA
SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER – 6.15pm (R20)
This is the original Piranha, an early post-Jaws comedic chiller from Joe Dante (director of The Howling, Gremlins & Innerspace).
For this screening, audience members will each receive a free EAS PIRANHA Energy Drink! (The Labia has a licensed bar and Piranha & drink specials will run throughout the Fest - your drinks can be taken into the cinema).
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)
BAD TASTE
SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER – 8.30pm (R20)
Oscar winning Lord Of The Rings trilogy director Peter Jackson’s brilliant, hilariously gory 1987 flick, BAD TASTE, sees the man behind the camera, and in front of it (in two roles). With equal parts gore and laughs, earth invaders with a taste for human flesh meet their match with a few unconventional agents out to kick their alien asses.
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)
DEEP RED
SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER – 10.15pm (R20)

This is quite the fan favourite when it comes to Dario Argento aficionados. The Italian director's bloody DEEP RED sees a British jazz pianist in Rome embroiled in a dangerous mystery after witnessing a brutal murder. With a bit of Hitchcock "self-investigation" and a nice twist, the brutal murderer closes in as the corpses pile up in various innovative (and messy) ways.
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)
SHADOW REALM Vol.II : Twisted Nerve (2nd screening)
SUNDAY 29 OCTOBER - 1.45pm (R20)

As is customary, the main part of the Horror Fest is kicked off with a collection of horror shorts compiled as SHADOW REALM Vol.II : Twisted Nerve. The South African short flicks are now also enhanced with entries from abroad - the best locally made flick walking off with an award and a cool R12000 prize from Magus Visual (www.visuals.co.uk/magus).
Foreign entries come from the UK, Canada, USA and Brazil, and the best Foreign Short Film entry will also be selected with an award sent to them (unless they want to visit our shores to collect it in person!)
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting
Home Entertainment !)

THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY
SUNDAY 29 OCTOBER - 4pm (R20)

After a family moves into an old house, their idyllic life gets shattered by a gruesome source emerging from the basement with horrible intentions. From Italian gore-meister Lucio Fulci, director of Zombie Flesh Eaters.
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)

George A. Romero's MARTIN
( © 1977 - The MKR Group, Inc. All rights reserved )
SUNDAY 29 OCTOBER - 6.15pm (R20)
George A. Romero (director of Night Of The Living Dead, Dawn-, Day-, & Land Of The Dead) ventured into another realm of the undead with this innovative take on the vampire myth, as he explores the downward spiral of a young man who believes he's one.
Free Vampire teeth (courtesy Party Tricks) for the first two dozen audience members.
(One lucky viewer will also get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)

GOTHIC
SUNDAY 29 OCTOBER - 8.30pm (R20)
Outrageous British director Ken Russell’s GOTHIC is a visually stunning rendition of how Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein was born one debauched, stormy night together with poet Percy Shelley and the decadent lord Byron.
(One lucky viewer will get a free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !)

NOSFERATU
MONDAY 30 OCTOBER - 9pm (R30)
F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent vampire classic NOSFERATU will grace the screen with an original soundtrack by TERMINATRYX, performed live to the screen. The performance will feature the great talents of collaborating guest artists:
> Matthijs Van Dijk on electric violin
> Simon "Fuzzy" Ratcliffe & Sean Ou Tim (of Lark) will tackle several instruments from upright bass and percussion, to the Middle Eastern Shawm, Duduk, and hopefully the Theremin!
> Francois Blom (V.O.D / Kobus! / Die Kruis) on keyboards & male vocals

The winner of the best South African short film entered will be announced on this night.

Free Vampire teeth (courtesy of Party Tricks) for the first 2 dozen viewers, a free limited edition Terminatryx CD for the first dozen audience members, and of course, the free set of DVD horror movies from Sting Home Entertainment !
