THE DESCENT

With Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Jackson Mendoza, Alex Reid, Nora-Jane Noone, MyAnna Buring, Craig Conway
Directed by Neil Marshall

Dog Soldiers director Neil Marshall goes underground with this horrifically moody claustrophobic horror with a bunch of girlfriends going on a caving expedition a year after a tragedy. An adventurous trip becomes a nightmare when a tunnel collapses, cutting the women off from the only entrance they’re aware of. They get lost in the caverns - and realize there is something else in there with them... Besides the fight for survival, a deadly mistake and internal conflict tumbles them further into the mouth of doom. Great cinematography by Sam McCurdy and set design by Simon Bowles. Special make-up FX artist Paul Hyett’s acclaimed creations are fantastic.
