GOD TOLD ME TO

With Tony Lo Bianco, Sandy Dennis, Sylvia Sydney, Richard Lynch, Andy Kaufman
Directed by Larry Cohen

It's Alive director Larry Cohen helms this interesting little 1976 flick which (if with a higher budget), could've had a Dirty Harry feel to it, be it much darker. A string of seemingly normal people flip out and kill, claiming "God told me to". A Catholic cop's investigation leads him down a mysterious path, slowly endangering himself. Not bad for the limited resources. Lo Bianco delivers a good performance, cult guy Richard Lynch is intense and Andy Kaufman features in a small cameo role.
