Mutant Chronicles MUTANT CHRONICLES

With Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, Sean Pertwee, John Malkovich, Devon Aoki, Anna Walton

Written by Philip Eisner
Directed by Simon Hunter

In the vein of digitally driven movies like Sky Captain, Mutant Chronicles takes us into an unreal sci-fi alanted future where large corporations wage war. A hostile force has embedded a Machine with the purpose to turn humans into mutants, but they were thwarted and the Machine sealed. It is 2707 and during a high powered conflict between two of the four major corporations this seal is broken, unleashing a devastating mutant force transforming everything in its path, set to take over mankind. Some people manage to find refuge on Mars, but far more are left behind. So, a group of warriors are assembled for a one way trip to destroy the Machine and save humanity (with a quasi-religious drive and a prophecy attached). Mutant Chronicles

The look is a gritty mix of WWI retro and mechanical futuristic elements, with a bit of Steampunk, but the
overwhelming digital presence can disconnect some viewers from the reality the moviemakers try to create. But, if dark, action-filled stories do it for you, this one can fill the gap.
