With Bradford Dillman, Heather Menzies, Kevin McCarthy, Dick Miller, Barbara Steele, Keenan Wynn, Paul Bartel
Directed by Joe Dante

Gremlins director Joe Dante proved his directorial skills with this late-70s Roger Corman produced take on Jaws, making it look expensive while we all know how tight Corman holds the purse strings. A school of piranha is accidentally set free into the river system at a secret government / military experimental base. One of the tributaries is home to a popular holiday resort! With a dark sense of humour and many spine tingling water terror sequences, this was quite an effective little flick for its time.
Also became part of the recent remake flood.
