SPAWN

With Michael Jai White, John Leguizamo, Martin Sheen, Theresa Randle, Melinda Clarke
Directed by Mark A.Z. Dippe

Todd McFarlane's most popular comic book hero gets the big screen makeover. As a special operations agent killed and sent to hell, he returns as
Spawn with a range of intense powers - which, he of course uses to exact revenge and justice. But, his powers are put to the test by hellbound enemies like the Clown played with energetic and slimey humour, by a heavily made-up, yet still hyper Leguizamo. The early digital FX are put to good use as Spawn tears through his enemies in a variety of ways. The soundtrack features a great bunch of hard rock and metal acts fused with electronic bands (like Slayer & Atari Teenage Riot, Metallica & DJ Spooky, Marilyn Manson & Sneaker Pimps). Besides Blade, Spawn is one of the few black comic book super-anti-heroes of the '90s.
