SUSPIRIA

With Jessica Harper, Stefania Casini, Joan Bennett, Flavio Bucci, Udo Kier, Alida Valli
Directed by Dario Argento

Argento’s surreal horror classic is an audio visual trip with glaring reds and a brilliant Goblins soundtrack (the theme song an unforgettable piece which has inspired many for decades). On arriving at a European dancing school, a young American student witnesses a woman fleeing the building – she ends up dead in true graphic Argento style (which involves the usual smashed glass and knife stabbings – a rope also thrown in for good measure). Slowly the girl starts to uncover dark mysterious practices with a meticulous suspenseful unraveling pace. As part of Argento’s Three Mothers series, this is one to see.

Double disc DVD special edition features a 25th Anniversary documentary, Argento interview, documentary on his work, trailers and photo gallery.
