Vanishing On 7th Street

VANISHING ON 7TH STREET

With Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo, Jacob Latimore, Taylor Groothuis

Written by Anthony Jaswinski

Directed by Brad Anderson

In Detroit a TV reporter awakens to a city where almost the entire population has disappeared. He soon discovers that the enveloped darkness holds something sinister and deadly, the only sanctuary being light. Finding his way to a bar with a generator, here a few survivors cling together, but they can't stay there forever.

(While mainly working in television) it is interesting that this was made by the director of The Machinist, and with a very competent and respected lead cast, one would expect more from this movie with B movie elements all over it.
