WORLD OF THE DEAD: The Zombie Diaries 2

With Philip Brodie, Alix Wilton Regan, Rob Oldfield, Vicky Araico, Okorie Chukwu, Rufus Graham, Toby Bowman

Written by Kevin Gates

Directed by Michael Bartlett, Kevin Gates

After an epidemic outbreak turning people into flesh eating zombies (of the traditional slow kind), the UK is on the brink of collapse.

I didn't get to see the first part of this zombie-themed series, but in this sequel a military controlled compound is overrun by the undead, and the survivors flee. They need to reach a harbour within a designated time where boats are departing for Rotterdam, but besides the flesh hungry zombies, there are outlaws making their escape a nightmare.

While it is likely riding on the infected trend reignited by 28 Days Later, World Of The Dead also combines the found footage trend by documenting the events through the lens of a video camera. The main thing with this type of choice is that your actors need to come across as natural as possible. Many of the cast members do a convincing enough job, but frequent scenes and some of the actors pull the viewer from that suspension of disbelief.
